Imagine sinking your toes into some of the purest, softest sand imaginable while looking out onto water so vividly-hued it looks as though the vibrancy has been turned all the way up on a photo filter. The Cove Atantis, located on the beautiful Paradise Island in Nassau, is escapism perfected. The best part? You don’t have to suffer through a gruelling 19 hour flight to Bora Bora or Indonesia. This gorgeous paradise is just a short 3 hour (yes, you read that correctly!) flight from Toronto or New York.
Where to Stay

The Cove Atlantis is by far the best resort in Nassau. Some of my favourite features include the 18+ luxury pool with poolside massages, the fitness centre with top of the line equipment, and Cove Club access. I highly recommend upgrading for Cove Club, which includes the Club level breakfast and cocktail hour with complimentary hor d’oeuvres you can enjoy while overlooking the Atlantic at sunset. Having a civilized breakfast buffet readily available in the morning provides you with a perfect start to a day in paradise.
Tip: If The Cove is out of your price range you can purchase a day pass for the luxurious 18+ pool
Where to Eat
A few of my favourite spots in Nassau:
Lunch – The Poop Deck
Do not let the name offend you — The Poop Deck is a fabulous spot overlooking the harbour with some of the freshest seafood imaginable and exceptional service to boot. From Bahamian lobster to fresh conch, this is a perfect spot for lunch if you want a authentic Bahamian cuisine.
Lunch or Dinner – Cafe Matisse
Located in a centuries old building tucked between parliament buildings, Cafe Matisse is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a high end lunch or dinner. Although not an authentic Bahamian experience — it is a restaurant you will hope to return to long after your return flight. If you’re looking to switch things up from all the abundant gorgeous seafood on the island, their Italian-inspired menu served on their romantic outdoor patio is a perfect way to change things up.
Dinner – Cafe Martinique

The Marina Village can be a bit of a tourist trap, but is enjoyable to observe from a safe distance above at Cafe Martinique. An elegant choice for dinner, I knew I would be in good company when I was greeted by a mahogany staircase and birdcage elevator. I loved everything about this restaurant from the decor to the culinary experience, and the staff really went above and beyond, pleased to cater some of my special requests. I recommend sitting outside on the balcony as you overlook the Marina Village and the many yachts anchored!
Tip: Dress code is resort elegant, do not show up to your reservation in flip flops or shorts as you may be refused entry!
The Mandara Spa
Feeling a bit too sun kissed? Take a break from the sun with a day at the award-winning Mandara Spa at Atlantis. Enjoy the warm and cold plunge pools and specialized services catered to men, women, and couples. The best pedicure I have ever received (which is saying a lot!), thank you to Antoinice for pampering my feet! If you want to soak up every last bit of Vitamin D I recommend you enjoy a poolside massage with the Mandara staff at the adult only pool at The Cove.
Writing this post has me already wanting to a book my return flight. What is the best tropical destination you have visited?

You’re absolutely right, it was truly a heavenly experience! I cannot say enough good things about my stay. The staff, location, and overall ambience were simply perfect! Would highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere tropical but not too far away.
It’s amazinf I love so close to Bahamas but I’ve never ventured out there 🤦🏽♀️ I had a friend who studied tourism over there and told me how lovely it is but wow this post really enlightened me. I feel like I need to jet off to the Poop Deck because boy is that Lobster calling my name haha 🦐 It looks like you truly had a wonderful time. Btw BEAUTIFUL pics. Much love 💗
