Using all-natural products whenever possible has always been a high priority of mine. Like most women, I have concerns when it comes to using traditional deodorants as almost all contain antiperspirant properties and are aluminum based, which wreck havoc on the body’s natural process.
Unfortunately, I have found it challenging finding a high quality all-natural deodorant that stands up to workouts and my on-the-go lifestyle. Throughout the years it seems I have tried countless options, all of which fell short of my expectations.
I decided to pick up a jar of Routine cream deodorant at Whole Foods on a whim. Little did I know my expectations were about to be blown away. I instantly loved the smell, (which is why I picked it up), but in my past experience when it comes to natural deodorants, this tends to fade fast, and becomes totally worthless within a few short hours.
Not so with the Routine cream deodorant.
I picked up the lavender and patchouli scented “Lucy In The Sky” scent. This vegan option is scented with all-natural essential oils and has a mild, subtle scent which lasts all day but isn’t overbearing. This deodorant provided me coverage from morning all through my busy day. I decided to put it to the ultimate test by not re-applying it before spin class. To my amazement, after my 60 minute spin class, I had absolutely no issues. I now only need to apply once in the morning for all-day freshness.
I did have my hesitations at first, as I had never used a cream deodorant before, and the application is done with your fingers. It was a little strange to apply at first, however I now actually really enjoy this process — it is just like applying your morning facial moisturizer! Also, because it is all-natural and made of vegan clay, it washes right off in the shower. (Bonus: it doesn’t dry out your underarms like traditional deodorants.)
My experience using Routine Natural Deodorant so far has been so positive, I have been encouraging everyone in my life to make the switch.
If you’re interested in giving it a try, I recommend the mini kit that comes with 11 deodorants from their line so you can find which product is best suited for your body!
